How does a website differ from an app for a business?
| Website | Mobile app | |
|---|---|---|
| My price | from $300 | from $2,000 |
| Timeline | from 1 week | MVP in 4–8 weeks |
| Where people come from | Search, ads, links | App Store, Google Play, ads |
| Install needed | No | Yes |
| Push, camera, offline | Limited | Full |
| User retention | Lower | Higher: home-screen icon and push |
When should you start with a website?
- You sell a service or product and customers look for you on Google.
- You need to test demand and collect leads fast.
- People visit once or twice: check the price, book, buy.
When should you build an app first?
- People use the product regularly: trackers, social, learning, AI services.
- You need phone features: camera, location, push, offline work.
- The revenue model is an App Store and Google Play subscription.
Can you have both?
Yes, and it is often the best path. The website brings people from search and explains the product; the app keeps them and earns through subscriptions. I build web with Next.js and apps with React Native, so logic and components are partly shared and the second product costs less.
How do you choose in your case?
Describe the idea — on a free consultation we look at who your users are and how often they need the product. Then it is clear what to launch first, what it costs and how long it takes.
